I couldn't get the old Russian spring bars off. Nothing worked, not even dental floss - these things were industrial strength strong. I finally used the razor blade technique. Trust me on this one: DO NOT put any springbar inside a Panerai tube on a watch that does not use a Panerai screw-bar. You'll need a Dremel to get the strap off and in most cases the strap will be wasted or you'll chew the crapola out of the lug. It uses one of Breitling's thickest one-piece stainless steel cases and has a helium escape valve which releases when atmospheric pressure in the case changes by 3 bars in deep sea diving. The domed sapphire crystal is a substance called corundum (9 on the Mohs hardness scale, second only to diamond 10) and virtually scratch proof. The springbar is probably a little bit too wide. This is why you have to keep the springbar straight when removing it. As soon as one end is out the springbar will be longer at the other end. You have to get a springbar tool and just slide the thinner pin on either side it should pop off. If the springbar fired out of the tweezers then there's the issue, springbar going from full compression to full extension can seize, a sharp tap will release it nature of the design. I installed an incorrect springbar, both in length and diameter. The lug hole is big enough that I can remove one side, but the other side just swallows the shoulders on the springbar so that its possible for me to compress the springbar on both side.
