I've found that if you hold a light source at a relatively steep angle relative to the dial (i.e. hold it near the top of the dial and shine downwards across the 6 o clock position) you should be able to illuminate the etching enough that it become visible.As the first in the 6-digit GMT Master II series, both models also featured shiny new ceramic “Cerachrom” bezels, new movements, the upgrade to Rolex’s Triplock screw-down crown, and an anti-reflective Cyclops lens.
