Omega is now part of the Swatch group as is Tissot. Many modern Tissot pocket watches now use the same basic movement. The movement is now known as ETA caliber 6497. On these early calibers from the 19''' series, the serial number of the movement is usually stamped on the dial face. But the serial number of the case is already helfull: it dates back the date of production to about 1902-1907, which is consistent with the production period of this caliber. I'm working on restoring this lovely Omega pocket watch and my primary problem is I need to replace the balance hair spring which I believe is an over coil type. I know with skill it can be worked gently back to shape but it seems I'm as yet not there, I'm going cross eyed! What calibre is it? Serial number # 5199299. Movement diameter: 44mm.

Based on Omega's official case number table below, this would put it somewhere between 1897 and 1902, probably a bit more towards the earlier date. The [0,800] stamp means the case is 80% silver. The marks just to the left and right of that are Swiss hallmarks.
